Ring 1 Cows & Calves and Store Cattle
Sale Time 12.30pm

This section caters for cattle approx 12 months old and upwards.

We source from a wide area which includes the neighbouring counties, and our customers are feeders either purchasing for summer grazing or yard finishing. Numbers vary, but are highest in spring and autumn.

Quality is across the whole spectrum from suckler beef bred to Holstein-Friesian from the local dairy herds.

Calves

Ring 3 Reared Calves
Sale Time 11.00am

Reared calves are approximately 3 months old up to 12 months.  Rearers should be able to find ample choice of calves to suit their individual needs.  Suckled calves are usually marketed in the late Autumn at around 7-9 months old. 

Ring 4 Calves
Sale Time 9.45 am

Rearing calves are not less than 7 days old up to approximately 2 months.  Calf buyers should be able to find an excellent selection of breeds to suit their systems.

Finished cattle

Ring 2 Finished Cattle
Sale Time 9.30am

Clean Cattle

Good selection of supermarket spec and butchers cattle sold.

Bulls

Melton Market has a growing reputation of having quality bulls available for eager buyers.  

OTM Cattle

We have several abattoirs that attend and buy OTM cattle and can therefore accommodate whatever numbers are entered.

The sale for these food chain cattle is every Tuesday at 10.00am in the prime cattle ring. 

OCDS Cattle 

We hold a collection every first Tuesday of the month. 

All cattle must be booked in with the auctioneers prior to sending them.

Once booked in the cattle must be accompanied with a current OCDS17 form and relevant passport or it will be rejected.
